About Me
A Safe Space for Healing and Support
I am an experienced, board-certified Adult, Adolescent, and Child Psychiatrist. I am a Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry Emeritus at New York University Medical Center. I provide integrated psychotherapy and medical management and refer to colleagues as indicated.
The more a person shares with me about their life, the more effective I can be in understanding and helping them.
I treat patients across the lifespan who are experiencing a variety of mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, attention deficit disorders, mood disorders, and neurodevelopmental conditions such as Autism, Asperger’s, and Intellectual Disabilities. I also have special expertise in postpartum psychiatric disorders and obsessive-compulsive spectrum disorders (OCD).
I am experienced and work comfortably with gay patients and those who may have children. Additionally, I work comfortably with gay children and adolescents.
I completed medical school at Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara Facultad de Medicina, followed by residency in Adult Psychiatry and a fellowship in Child Psychiatry at the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center.
I do not participate in insurance plans, however, I will fill out insurance forms for the patient can submit to receive any out of network benefits that they are entitled to. When I see Medicare eligible patients,I charge them Medicare rates.
